I want to start by saying A LOT of research went into writing this novel, and kudos to the author for doing so. I loved the intertwining of random historical pieces of information into the story.
With that being said, maybe it's just me and the fact that I so VERY new to this genre - the whole time-travel, punk rock, feminist, dystopian, sci-fi - all wrapped in one. For me, I found myself confused.... frequently. I think because of the time-travel and the multiple characters. It was just a very strange timeline and it felt very scattered. Probably didn't help that I'm reading another book and listening to another book at the same time.
Overall, it was a very heavy book with a very heavy, not-so-subtle message. I really wanted to love this book, but ultimately, it just did not engage me like I had hoped.
