I don't usually read sci-fi or time travel books. They are usually too far fetched for me and require too much thinking and/or concentration to get through. this book however, was much cooler than I expected and grabbed my attention quickly. Yes, it is time travel and i am sure will require a lot of focus and thought to stay with all that is happening, but it has a different feel to it than your typical sci-fi stuff. Maybe it has something to do with the time periods we "visited" in these first 2 chapters. It was familiar to me so it didn't seem so far fetched. This book also had gore which I was not expecting at all especially so soon. I do love a good thriller/horror book so that aspect has also drawn me into this one. I am certainly intrigued and feel that I HAVE to read the rest and see where this goes.
