Having read and lived his first two novels, it was an obvious choice for me to want to read The Fury. The book definitely started out slow. I wasn’t sure where the story was going to take me but once I got into it, I could not put it down. The book is narrated by Elliot who is also a main character. The book had lots of twists, turns and backtracking. The reader ends up following a famous actor and her friends to her island where murder will take place. The mystery and suspense is doled out in bits while Elliot flips between past and present. At times, the book is a bit confusing and I found I had to keep flipping back to reread the ends of chapters if I happened to put the book down for a length of time. While I loved the basic storyline, there were flaws. Also some of the character development was lacking. I’d definitely recommend this book to a mystery fan but I don’t think this is one of his best stories.
