Not For Me.
The prologue and first chapter of this story really intrigued me, but my interest dwindled as I read.
The Fury is a story of murder told by Elliot, the rather unreliable narrator. And while an interesting take on telling a story, I didn't like Elliot much. His back and forth and constant need to tell the reader how unreliable his narration is was got repetitive and felt unnecessary.
Overall, I didn't find this story that thrilling or twisty, but perhaps it was because at the point of the more gasp-worthy parts, I'd already written off Elliot and his...unreliable narration.
If you enjoy secluded island thrillers with shorter chapters and wealthy characters doing despicable things I'd recommend giving this one a try. You might enjoy it, it just wasn't for me.
Thank you Celadon Books for the advanced copy to read and honestly review.
