This book could've been great if the first half had been cut in half. The first 50-60% of the book was EXTREMELY slow and tedious. It was filled with unnecessary details that no one needed or wanted to know. We didn't even get to the murder part of this "murder mystery" until after the 30% mark 😐 After we get past the slow start though, the story is really fun. The plot twists and misdirections had my jaw on the floor. They were wiiiiild. If you want a story with unpredictable twists, I would recommend this.

I also liked how the narrator continuously broke the fourth wall to talk to us. i thought that was a fun element to add. And the cameos! Being someone who read all of Alex Michaelides' previous books, I got excited every time one of the characters from The Maidens or The Silent Patient was mentioned. Lastly, I appreciated the interesting group/character dynamics. I especially liked the Lana + Kate + Jason + Elliot group dynamic. There were a lot of layers and things to uncover within the group. If the beginning had been more fast-paced, this could've easily been a 5 star read for me.
