I absolutely loved this book. I devoured it in less than twenty four hours. The story was incredibly unique, told in first person point of view from someone who was at the scene of the crime. It read like a play because a play-write wrote it. Michaelides is the king of twists and this one has too many to count. Each character had their own struggles, we have infidelity, obsession, a mommy’s boy. A private island in Greece, count me in.

Since this was told in first person, you question the narrator constantly and I don’t usually love this type of POV. But this one was done very well since the narrator actually made me laugh throughout by attempting to not insert himself where he didn’t belong. Five parts, short chapters, and a lot of action, I could not recommend this one more.

Alex is my favorite author for a reason and how he is able to sneakily connect each of his books in the smallest of ways is so amazing.
