First time reading anything by this author (didn't read Silent Patient but there is a line towards the end of the book thats a spoiler for it) but my first thought was WOW! There are a ton of commas! Like Siri talk to text amount of them. I'm sure its proper grammar but made my mind fumble over the sentences. This book was addicting, I did read it in 2 days but I'm not sure I loved it. The MC POV was weird, sometimes they were talking to you and breaking the 4th wall. Other times it seemed it wasn't them writing or narrating to you at all which confused me structurally. The time jumps were a bit much for me as well. Sometimes I cared sometimes I didn't. I can't pinpoint it but the flow of this book wasn't for me. The ending was fine - I didn't see it coming but I wasn't like WHAT A TWIST! Overall I think a lot of people will enjoy this book but for me that writing style and pacing didn't workout.
