First of all, it took almost a month before I got my copy, so sorry for the late review.

This is my first Michaelides book I have ever read (I know he wrote the Silent Patient but have not read it). The beginning did hook me as the narration was different from what i have read in other thrillers. Very play-like. However, the narrator is so unreliable that I was trying to decipher what was real and what was his own twisted fantasy. Which can be a good device to use in a mystery/thriller but it happened so many times that it annoyed me.

Once I accepted this was how the narrator will be throughout the book, I actually somewhat enjoyed the plot of this book. How it is told as a story told at the bar stool. Where you pull up a chair, grab a drink and settle in to hear the tale. The twists were good and I did not see most of them coming especially the last few pages. Overall, it has flaws but if it intrigues you, give the book a try.
