The book The Fury is Michaelides’s third book. Instead of taking place in England from the point of view from a therapist, like his first two books, this one is narrated by a playwright on a private island in Greece. There were some interesting twists in the plot, and I appreciated the five act structure. Many of the characters were unlikeable, which was done on purpose with a goal by the author, but even knowing this it made the book difficult to read. This is also the third book by Michaelides with an unreliable narrator, which although the narrator acknowledged from the beginning, still took away from some of the twists in the story. The author was clearly influenced by Agatha Christie, as the narrator acknowledged, but Christie is still the master of writing a story with an unreliable narrator. Overall, though, this was an interesting thriller, and I recommend it to anyone who likes mysteries.
