Having read and enjoyed Alex Michaelides’ previous works, I knew I was in for a treat with “The Fury.” As expected, the first few pages drew me in immediately! However, I was surprised to find that the first act of the book developed slower than I anticipated it would. By the subsequent acts though, I was fully immersed and found it to be entirely unputdownable!
The format of this book was ideal; I liked how the novel was divided into acts consisting of short, manageable chapters. Also, I loved the full-circle storyline and the nod to “The Silent Patient” at the end.
The unique use of the narrator - both in the traditional sense AND as a character within the novel - felt refreshing and definitely added an extra layer of interest to the story! A true underdog, Elliot was my favorite character of the bunch (in the beginning, anyways!).
This novel definitely kept me guessing as to who the murderer was! Every time I thought I had it figured out, there was a new plot twist that changed everything! Suffice it to say, Alex Michaelides has written another addicting read full of twists and turns!
