The author caught my attention right away in the Prologue. I love how it begins with him telling the audience that you should never start a story discussing the weather and then does exactly that. It made me realize early that the weather may play a big roll in the story. The description of the murder scene in just the few pages allowed me to picture the location in my mind. I could hear Leo's howl floating in the wind and could picture the blood pooling through the marble.

I also like how the narrator assumes we are already familiar with the story that will be told but now is going to give us all the juicy details. It makes me feel like I will now find out who really committed the murder or murders and there might be a chance no one else knows the truth. It made me think we don't know the narrator and there might ne a chance he is unreliable. Lastly, the narrator almost gives us instructions on how to digest this story and make sure the audience keeps an open mind. This makes me more intrigued and excited to read this book.

I am absolutely hooked on this story already.
