This is a very short first impression and the story is told through odd narration. The narrator speaks directly to the reader, as in: "Who am I? Well, I am the narrator of this tale—and also a character in it." The first impression cuts off just as the narrator is about to introduce the first additional character, Lana. So, I'm not sure if the whole story is told in that style. The narrator does state that they will try not to hijack the story too much. Regardless, the entire first impression felt like a preamble to the story.
