I was intrigued by the cover only because it looks like the blue pendant I need to own called the evil eye, I'll be honest I thought it was about magic of sorts--maybe it is?
My first impression is that of surprise. As if the author was reading my mind I instantly thought of Agatha Christie and the "whodunit" way. But as explained in the first look, it's not that but seems like the person narrating the story has compiled journals of the sort to tell the tale of this murder mystery. It's good to expand my genre of books, where I mostly settle for fantasy or science fiction. I haven't read much mystery genre books but I would certainly like to!
