This book didn't need a prologue. All it did was make the author and the character sound pretentious. It didn't add anything to the story. The opening sentence in Chapter 1 did not give me hope. Readers aren't stupid and you don't have to treat us that way. I'll be honest: I though the Silent Patient was overrated so I didn't expect greatness for this.
