What better reason for 2024 to arrive when a new Alex Michaelides book is on the horizon? I loved AM's previous books, The Silent Patient and The Maidens and I have no doubt The Fury will be yet another superb thriller from this gifted writer. In my opinion AM has been influenced by the late author Ruth Rendell so whenever I read his books I feel as if my favorite writer has returned to me. Very few authors can match her tone and AM is at the top of the list for managing to channel Ruth's voice. I absolutely cannot wait to drop everything in order to devour The Fury, which appears to be the perfect thriller from a master writer. This is already my most anticipated book of 2024 and any other books I read after The Fury will have an impossible task to match my enthusiasm for this work. Let this year end so that we have another AM book to treasure.
