The Friday Cage follows Claire who recently moved to DC and has a stalker she’s afraid of. She tries to piece together who is after her and why before she gets herself caught up in trouble.
The premise of the book was interesting enough but the writing itself wasn’t great and felt very jagged. There was limited backstory or context to any of the characters and their relationships so the various actions fell flat for me. Also I didn’t like Claire and all of her assertions that she’s an independent woman — if you have to keep pointing out that you’re trying to create a strong female character it’s probably not working. Overall I was disappointed by the story and happy it was at least short so I could get through it.
