The title The Friday Cage is taken from a mistake by one of the bad guys, which the protagonist Claire Chastain quickly corrects. In fact, the biggest mistake they make is underestimating this pretty, tough minded accountant who is out to solve the mystery of a friend's death and unravel the cryptic message that he left behind.
There's something amiss with the financials of a giant pharmaceutical company she is currently auditing. It involves the current day opioid epidemic and a scheme to profit by selling large quantities of the drugs illegally.
Things get very dangerous very quickly for Claire, but then an unlikely guardian angel shows up, a big-eating, big-talking, but most importantly a hard fighting Iraqi war veteran from Arkansas.
I really enjoyed this book. Claire is constantly dodging the bad guys and dealing with personal problems on the fly. Lots of action. Lots of mayhem. Four stars.
