The suspense builds from the first paragraph, who is this man, why are the police investigating her friend's death and who is her father? So many questions to be answered. The writing pulls you in, except I did not enjoy the constant need to tell us how beautiful the main character was or that people were always trying to look her up and down, etc. I felt it was not needed and distracted from the story.
