Most of the excerpt is an introduction to Claire and her "spare the rod, spoil the child" type Grandmother with an extra helping of verbal abuse. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about Claire's whole personality even though I have a few similar traits. I also love numbers and prefer them to people TBH for one example. I'm not a big fan of the cover - it doesn't intrigue me enough to want to pick it up. The suspense surrounding her possible stalker is intriguing though and so is the behavior of the officer she spoke with. There are just enough elements for this to have the potential of an enjoyable novel in addition to being well written.
