What a way to start a book and draw the reader in!
This book was started with a bang. We then learn a little about Claire's background and her issues with her grandma, Leona. I loved getting a little glimpse into why Claire is who she is and what has made her such a strong, independent woman. Toward the end of the excerpt, this took a string turn toward a thriller and I felt the tension building.
All in all, a great preview and I can't wait to read this book!
