This book's description was immediately appealing and the first chapter wastes no time in tackling the main story. I do like the pacing and direct, to-the-point nature of the writing style. Seems like a well-formed mystery without too many detours. This sample left me a bit uncertain about how worthwhile the ensuing plot might be though, and a first person perspective would have probably been better given how the author digs into the main character's thoughts so often. The third person perspective isn't a bad choice though. Overall, a nice sample.
