The beginning of the book was a grabber and it captivated my attention. Then the story deviates from the action and I kept reading to try and see if we ever get back to the mystery that was introduced in the first chapter. The chapters were short and written very simply so it was easy to read and understand. One thing I would have liked was if the author italicized all of the protagonist's thoughts. The story has a lot of Claire's thoughts embedded throughout the scenes (sometimes it would be several paragraphs of just inner thoughts) but there are no font changes that helped the reader distinguish between her thinking something versus something that set the scene. Also, a short introduction for every new character that is brought up would be nice. It was confusing to keep track of every name and wait for it to reappear for me to learn just a little bit more.
The book cover looks interesting because it has many little details. I noticed the back looks like a fingerprint and the rip has a sillouhette of a girl. Not sure why the book is called The Friday Cage and the book description didn't allude to it either.
