There's definitely a lot going on in this first look, and I'm really intrigued to see where it's going.
I typically don't like books written by men with female main characters though. It's always obvious that it's a man writing when they describe the character. I don't know a single woman who actively thinks about wearing heels because she's 5'6 (apparently a deficiency to this author) and wants to be as tall as the men she works with.
I'm also not a fan of how the author is choosing to describe his female character through the gaze of creepy and pervy men who are checking her out. That's a little concerning.
If you like thrillers though, this seems like it'd be a good book for you.
