Wow. Claire is a piece of work. Mean, angry and bitter thanks to an upbringing from a grandmother that elevated all those things to an art form, Claire is someone that instead of being assertive and self-assured is nasty and disrespectful to those around her. I don't know who's out to get her, and I can't decide if I'd be happy to see her go or intrigued to see how she deals with anyone who tries to mess with her. Irregardless, I don't know that I could read a whole book with a character that has so few redeeming values.
