So the first thing I want to address is the author's writing style. It's descriptive but in a unique way, though sometimes it does go beyond what we need to know. I found myself skimming long paragraphs of description about something unimportant. The writing just didn't grip me in the way I wanted it to. I couldn't really connect to anything in the story either.
However, I like the author's ability to create a character. From the first words out of the main character's mouth, you can sense what type of person she is. However, that's not enough for me to be invested to this story. It just didn't really peak my interest.
