There was definitely a lot of characterization and suspense within these first few chapters. We learn that Claire, our protagonist, is a take-no-shit person whose attitude was shaped by a childhood living with her grandmother, who did not take care of her in the ways that she needed. Claire also suspects someone has been stealing her mail, and we learn from the synopsis that she might have a stalker on her hands. I'm curious to see how things take a turn. Might pick it up, might not, either way it's certainly suspenseful.
