I don't read a lot of middle grade books, but I have a nephew in this age range so I thought I'd check this book out to see if it's something he would enjoy. He isn't a big reader, but he will sit down with a book every once in awhile. I have a hard time imagining him with this book though, because it employs a lot of words that he may not have learned yet; maybe he has though, I don't know. I imagine some readers would have to keep a dictionary handy or use context clues to determine the meanings of some of the words used in this story.

As for the story itself, it moves quickly and is entertaining. We have a bad guy who shows up at the Fowl compound and creates quite the situation for himself. I'm curious enough about what will happen next that I would continue reading. Who doesn't want to know what a nunterrogation is?
