I like the writing style of this author. He presents the story in an intelligent way that I feel young readers will enjoy. He doesn't "dumb it down" but instead uses words and phrases that allow the reader to learn and expand their vocabulary. I'm not into stories with fairies and trolls, but I'm not a young reader. I feel this would mostly appeal to male readers.
