four and a half stars bumped up to 5 because i feel this was a really important read!! i would love to read more stories about this time/issues and especially the stolen children! It's not really a rare thing through history but the time frame this went on for was so long, i was shocked! This was a much more impactful read knowing this could and was peoples lives for decades in Spain.

I didn't know much of anything when i started reading this book and by the end i started searching for more books! i would reread this in the future and also buy it for myself or even a gift. Anyone who likes historical fiction, especially books that are more closely based on actually historical events, Would realyl love reading this book i'm sure! i found myself taking breaks because i didn't this book to end! great read.
