Ruta is one of the most beautiful writers and Fountains has surpassed her best writing yet. Her words paint moving pictures in the readers' minds. Her writing reminds me a little of Lisa See's, another one of my favorite authors. Like Lisa, Ruta writes some hard things to digest.
This is such an important part of history for her to introduce readers to. I know very little about Spain and even less about their history of politics, so I am eager to learn through the voices of Ana, and Daniel, and Rafa.
These characters are likeable, and I want to get to know them more and quickly.
Their stories are evolving quickly and I find this story hard to put down. I especially cannot wait to discover how their lives knit together.
