Shining a light on an era I know very little about

When Ruta Sepetys writes, she takes you to the time and place she is writing about. I find myself submerged in her books, and The Fountains of Silence continues that glorious tradition. Her characters take shape in my mind and draw me in, inviting me to get to know them. There are always secrets to be revealed, truths to be discovered. After reading the short portion of the book available here, I'm hooked. I want to know more about Daniel and Ana, where they come from, what they're heading toward.
