Mixed Feelings
This book's cover is gorgeous and immediately caught my attention. I like the story's concept, though I have mixed feelings about this First Impression. The writing is beautiful, with a strong emotional quality. But at times the approach and content feels too much like a history lesson.
The scenes are quite short and are written from the viewpoints of different narrators living different lives. While I'm sure they all eventually intersect, the beginning lacks cohesion. I do think this is the kind of story that becomes more absorbing as we get further into the book.
