I loved reading this excerpt! I am extremely interested in the lives of the main two characters- Daniel (a Texan visiting Spain) and Ana (a local working at the hotel where his family is staying). Daniel yearns for a future hindered by his family, and Ana years for a future hindered by her culture. I've never read a novel that takes place during this time frame in Spain and I absolutely cannot wait to read more! Ruta Sepetys writes with such beautiful language and clarity.
