I feel like I've been transported to Franco Spain

I love how more novels are starting to take place during this era. I feel like more and more are starting to crop up and it's a great respite from the usual WW2 historical novel that just flood historical fiction. In my opinion, this was a very good start to a historical novel. I feel like I've been transported to Franco Spain. I can get a sense of this family of characters and the underlying tension in everything they do. It sets the scene for what I assume will be a major conflict in the novel. It does remind me the show Gran Hotel, so I'm weary of where the plot will go but it seems like the perfect blend of drama and historical significance that any historical fiction fan will be drawn to.
