This is not an era of history I know anything about - we didn't cover much of anything regarding Spain post-1900s in any of my history classes, and it's much not frequently covered in historical fiction - so it was great to learn a bit about the political climate of that time and how it terrorized the Spanish people, just regular people trying to live. It also touched upon the great stratification between the glamorous "foreigners" hotel and the lives of everyday Spanish, which still goes on to this day in many countries. As for the actual novel... I might pass, because I'm getting big whiffs of ~forbidden romance~ that doesn't interest me much. That's just a personal preference.
