An often overlooked part of world history, the fascist regime in Spain during and after World War II was brutal, oppressive, and repressive. This book is an absolute necessity, and I was hooked with this excerpt. Ana's plight and her secrets are fascinating, and I hope so much that Daniel gets to become a photographer. I can't wait to read more, and I definitely need to find out more about this dark period in Spain's history. I love the cover as well - it's so dramatic!
