What just happened?? I had to re-read a page or two at the end to make sure I actually read what I thought I had read.
Trusting people can be hard, especially when you've already suffered so much, and this book plays right into the fears and risks of trusting too much, or trusting the wrong person.
Admittedly, there were a few times in the book where I thought, "Just ask the question!" or, "Just tell the whole truth!" which can be a little frustrating, but overall, I thought the story played out extremely well. The moment at the birthday party when everyone is unexpectedly face to face for the first time was tense and terrifying and overwhelming to me as the reader. Perfectly written.
Definitely a suspenseful novel worth a read!
