The First Mistake was a fast paced thriller that kept me on my toes the whole time! We followed a woman named Alice who lost her husband tragically and has never gotten over her fear of loss. As she moves on in her life, her past starts to creep back up- but Alice doesn’t know that. And maybe her friends aren’t really her friends after all
It loses a star for me because when we switch POV in the middle, much of the storyline involved there could’ve been cut down and it was the only point of the story that dragged a little bit for me.
If you like Big Little Lies, this is a book I think you’d like. They have similar vibes with the relationships that intertwined.
