The First Mistake is a addictive domestic suspense about a wife, her husband, and the woman who is supposedly her best friend. When you are in few pages, I thought I have figured what gonna happen at the end but as I kept turning the pages I was so wrong, forget about the end I didn’t have a clue as to what will happen next, which way is it going to go.
My head was ringing halfway through, all the shocking secrets hitting me from left right & centre, how can an author do this so brilliantly that we end up wanting for more.
I loved all the characters in the story before they started being duplicitious, atleast that’s what I thought. I thought Alice has it all; good husband Nathan, profit-making business, children, nice house, best friend Beth and when the first secret is out, it was shocking & couldn’t wrap my head around it, I was like ok didn’t see this one coming I was worried about something else entirely but few pages and suddenly there is another shocking twist & then another.
There was so much suspense built up with so many secrets out, I got confused as to which dots to connect logically & I still tried but there were missing pieces to it which I knew would only be found at the end so I was desperately turning page after page just so I could just know how did all this happen and then there it was towards the end ,puzzle solved.
When I read a good book, it gives me so much satisfaction that I put my mind and time on something so great I have not read any book so far with so much suspense, so many twists in one book & I just had to wait till the end to find the answers. The narration was the best part even though there was so much happening with the characters, it just led me in reading it in one sitting
This is a must read & if you don’t like thrillers or haven’t read any yet then read this one.
