I was hesitant about this going into it. I wasn't a fan of The Other Woman, so I wasn't sure how much I would enjoy this one. However, I thought the plot looked intriguing, and I heard a lot of good things about it, so I decided to give it a go. I am so glad that I did! I ended up really enjoying this one, even more than I thought I would. I thought the story was entertaining and addictive, and I couldn't put this one down. I made the mistake of starting this one before bed. I ended up reading the whole book in one night. I had to keep reading to find out what was going to happen next. The story was full of unreliable characters, and I found myself questioning everyone. I wasn't sure who I could trust. The domestic drama between Alice and her husband was the perfect amount; not too absurd and not too little. Her best friend, Beth, became increasingly untrustworthy. The dramatic irony that Jones includes is just enough to make you want to see how it is all going to play out. This book definitely exceeded my expectations, and I will be recommending it to all of my thriller-loving reader friends! Thank you Bookish First and Minotaur Books for this free book!
