The First Mistake was excellent, with a little heartbreak, infidelity, mystery as it follows the story of two women who are tied together by the same conniving man. Very strong female lead characters, who unravel the truth about the man that they both love(d). I empathized with both characters, even though their friendship suffered after the “truth” came out because they each have a child by the male lead character. I loved the book for the split narratives and the twisty way the story seemed to unfold. By the time you get to the end, not only do you want to choke the bad guy yourself but you think you have the ending figured out and yet there is still a surprise waiting. I would totally recommend this book to anyone who loved the author’s first book!
