I read last year the first book by this author, and found myself so angry with the characters, and the story was deliciously twisty, I knew I had to read the second novel.

In this story I found characters just as interesting, but in a different way. The main character Alice, is very much a career woman, that seems has her life together. Something everyone should be envious of - a very loving husband, two beautiful girls, a thriving business, and beauty to add it to all. What more can she ask for? Well, just like any other human being she has flaws. One, she's still grieving her first husband. His death put her in a mental hospital, because she had a breakdown. She seems on a brink of another mental breakdown, as she keeps self medicating with pills and tons of wine. Why does it feel like everything is slipping away from her? Or it's just the pressure at work, where her company is about to go big?

The book was beautifully twisted, and flowed well with the two characters intertwined in a very interesting way. It was a nice domestic thriller, with an end that was a bit rushed, but ended perfectly. I rooted for Alice to get herself together. However, nothing in this book was unpredictable. I found I guessed the twists early, it still didn't take away the entertainment factor for me. Easy, fast read, that is perfect for a pool or beach.
