This is exactly the kind of book I look for when I'm purchasing books every month. I like the idea of friends you think you can trust being the exact opposite. I'm a veteran and after years of being able trust my female and male friends with every aspect of my life it was incredibly hard to adjust to civilian life. It's been decades and I still find it a problem. Books like this make me realize it isn't my stupidity that sets me up for disappointment because it happens to everyone in life. Life and relationships are hard enough without adding people with no conscious into the mix. The psychology of what makes people tick is fascinating and reading an authors take on that idea is always interesting. This is a book I will read because the idea of the plot grabbed me immediately.
