I can tell that this will be a very quick read, with lots of twists and turns. There was a lot to unpack in the short sample, but I am immediately drawn to what happened to this family in the past and where they will be going in the future - what happened to Tom? Why is Livvie being bullied? What are the sources of Alice's anxiety attacks? Was Nathan really in Japan only on business? All of these questions immediately came to mind, and I felt myself wanting to delve more into these characters.
