The first impression of this book only focused on Alice. There is clearly some intrigue on how her first husband died. She has seemed to make a new life with a new husband. She has one daughter with her dead husband and one daughter with her new husband. At the end of the first impression, the suspense builds when the younger daughter (with the new husband) starts being afraid her daddy will die also. Foreshadowing? Unclear...
