Jones has a clear ear for conversation which is apparent through the ease in which she writes dialogue. I was immediately hooked and am eager to see how this plays out. She also clearly understands the teenage dynamic as well as the parent-child dynamic.

At first glance, the cover is a clean flatlay of roses which is visually appealing. Upon closer inspection, they have been (purposely?) destroyed. Since roses signify love, and they have been damaged, this ramps up the suspense as to what the book is about.
