The premise promises something deliciously dark. A possible love affair between a woman's husband and her best friend that has her doing bad things sounds like the set up for an episode of Snapped. But it takes a bit to start following through with that premise. The biggest plot point in the first chapter is that the protagonist's daughter got in an argument on the playground. And the second chapter doesn't go much farther. It didn't grip me from the get-go like the premise did. If I'd read the first couple chapters without knowing where the plot was heading, I probably wouldn't continue.
