Alice seems to be a successful woman and mother that has overcome the loss of her first husband. I could really relate to her as one mother and busy woman to another. I really like her as a character. I am eager to find out more about her friendship with Beth and the kind of person she is, as well as more about her decorating business and her relationship with her second husband, Nathan. What's up with the troubles her daughter is having at school? Why does Lottie make me want to keep my eye on her? Does David play into things later? Oh, so much that makes me need to know what happens next and keeps me guessing!
I do find the book cover attractive and intriguing. The tattered rose on the front and the title both make me wonder what goes awry and with whom. I would pick this novel up in a store to find out more about it with this cover.
