Overall, I do want to say that I enjoyed the first chapter of The Extraordinaries yet, there are some pretty clear faults. I love a story with an unlikable protagonist, but I do not believe that this was the intention for this story. Our main character, Nick, seems to be extremely heterophobic. In the first paragraph alone, someone refers to having sequins being gay. I understand that it is not the case, but then to say that he doesn't understand straight people?
But, I do really enjoy that he is a fanfiction writer. This chapter really does get into Nick's head and I do think that I could finish this book. This aspect really helps and I am really hoping for more character development from Nick when I finish this book.
