The cover is beautiful, and I love the tagline about being extraordinary vs being extra. It's very surprising, funny, and of-this-moment.

I was immediately interested in the fanfic format – I've never actually fallen into this world, yet have always felt a kinship, like if I dug in I would find my people. The superheroes seem fun and excellent, and I love how the story opens with a bang and a sparkle. The fanfic gets a little cringie, and I love that the online comments call this out. I love the immediate twist when we enter reality and discover that the heroes exist here too, not just in fiction. I'm intrigued to know more about Nick's family. There's a sorrow and a sense of loss and distrust there, and I can already sense that this is the kind of book that will pull my heart in several directions.

For me, this looks like a perfect storm, with queer realness and big magic.
